Meanwhile, a quick & easy post! Some time ago I stumbled across (or was directed to - I forget which) a website that featured videos of musicians performing a capalla and/or acoustic versions of their songs in the streets, parks, restaurants, museums and balconies of Paris.
The website is called La Blogotheque and these shows are called Takeaway Shows.
Here's their description of the shows: Every week, we invite an artist or a band to play in the streets, in a bar, a park, or even in a flat or in an elevator, and we film the whole session. Of course, what makes the beauty of it is all the little incidents, hesitations, and crazy stuff happening unexpectingly. Besides, we do not edit the videos so they look perfectly flawless, instead we keep the raw sound of the surroundings. Our goal is to try and capture instants, film the music just like it happens, without preparation, without tricks. Spontaneity is the keyword.
I've really fallen in love with these videos and wanted to share a few favorites with you. You can see some artists you may already know as well as those you're not familiar with, in different settings, some interacting with crowds, some not. The videos are beautiful and the music is outstanding. Enjoy!
